Special Education Teacher
Gallina, NM | Full-Time | 2026–2027 School Year
We are seeking a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a K–12 setting in Gallina, New Mexico. This is a full-time opportunity beginning ASAP and continuing through the end of the 2026–2027 school year.

Responsibilities
Oversee the special education process from screening and identification through IEP development and student placement.
Assist with the implementation of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) in accordance with district policies and procedures.
Organize and ensure completion of evaluation reports and IEPs.
Review special education documentation to ensure compliance with district procedures and state and federal regulations.
Monitor evaluations, timelines, and information for new students to support appropriate placement and programming.
Collaborate with principals, department heads, general education staff, and other team members to support the integration of students with disabilities into general education classrooms when appropriate.
Assist in identifying areas of need related to special education compliance and developing programs to address those needs.
Support appropriate educational programming and services based on individual student needs.
Qualifications
Current New Mexico teaching certificate in Special Education required.
Experience working with students with disabilities in a K–12 setting preferred.
Strong knowledge of special education processes, IEP development, and IDEA compliance.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
